Client Case Study

A colourful, soulful home
that feels just right

This home that already had good bones — but didn’t yet feel like it belonged to the people living in it.

When we first looked at this space, nothing was wrong.

There were good pieces. Functional layouts. Elements that could have worked.

But the home lacked warmth and interest, making it feel cold and uninviting.

The challenge

The goal wasn’t to start again. It was to:

  • understand what was already working

  • identify what was quietly creating friction

  • and bring everything into a more cohesive, considered whole - without unnecessary replacement.

The approach

We took a layered, intentional approach — focusing on clarity before change.

Key decisions included:

  • refining the colour palette to create consistency across spaces

  • reworking layout and placement to improve flow and balance

  • editing and repositioning existing pieces rather than replacing them

  • introducing a small number of new elements where they would have the most impact

Every decision was made in relation to the whole — not in isolation.

Why this worked

This project wasn’t about adding more.

It was about seeing more clearly.

By identifying what already had value and building around it, we were able to:

  • create cohesion without starting over

  • reduce visual noise and competing elements

  • bring a sense of calm and intentionality into the space

This is where clarity becomes powerful — knowing what to keep, what to change, and how everything connects.

The result

  • A home that feels cohesive, calm, and considered

  • Spaces that flow naturally from one to the next

  • Existing pieces working harder and more beautifully

  • A home that now feels aligned with the people living in it.

So grateful for that night I was looking (on the net) for an answer to our cold, uninviting home, and came across Homes With Soul.
