A colourful, soulful home
that feels just right

What was once a blank and very “white” canvas lacking personality and soul, now feels warm, cohesive and unmistakably theirs.

I love, love, love the transformation!

The Brief

Mother and daughter duo, Pat and Kirsty, had recently moved into a new home. With everything painted white, the space felt cold, stark and impersonal.

Pat approached Homes with Soul because she was craving a space that felt relaxed and cosy. They loved the idea of sourcing second hand treasures to work well with with pieces they already owned - creating a home filled with personality.

Their biggest concern was not knowing where to begin—or how to inject personality without repainting the entire house or replacing everything.

What we did

Keen to create a home full of character, we took a layered approach—reusing, repurposing, and thoughtfully sourcing mostly second-hand pieces to add depth and individuality.

Their existing lounge suite was reupholstered in a timeless green chenille, which helped anchor the colour scheme and set the design direction. From there, we introduced a cohesive palette, found some standout second-hand gems, and made practical improvements like painting and fixing shelving to bring both personality and function to the space.

We really enjoyed working with someone who has such a great instinct for colour and style

We engaged Nicci to help bring some soul and colour into our newly renovated home.

While we loved the layout, the all-white walls and light grey carpet left it feeling cold and not quite “us”—especially with winter setting in.

With Nicci’s guidance, we began to shape a home that felt uniquely ours. She worked with much of the furniture we already had, rearranging it to better suit the space, added a few second-hand pieces and a gorgeous rug that helped tie everything together.

The tradespeople she brought in did excellent work, and the whole process—from selecting paint colours to choosing homewares—was made easy through face-to-face meetings and chats over WhatsApp.

We now have a home full of warmth, colour, and personality, and we really enjoyed working with someone who has such a great instinct for colour and style.
