THREE STEPS TO SUCCESSFUL DECORATING

Decorating your home can feel like a daunting task, especially if you have a million different ideas, no clear vision of what you want to achieve, and can’t commit to one direction!

I completely understand because I was once just like you!

I felt stuck and unsure how to progress my decorating ideas - so I did nothing! I was scared to spend money on the wrong things, so I ended up not spending anything at all! It felt so disempowering.

But when I renovated several years ago, everything changed for me! I discovered three simple steps that completely changed the way I lived - and it can do the same for you!

This is the decorating process that I still use with my clients today - transforming their homes into ones that feel comfortable, personal and timeless.

1. IDENTIFY PIECES YOU DON’T LIKE OR THAT DON’T WORK WELL

Renovating was the incentive I needed to remove everything from my home that I didn’t like. Clearing space to introduce pieces I loved!

Can you identify what pieces you really don’t like? Air mark them for removal once you find a suitable replacement!

2. IDENTIFY THE PIECES YOU LOVE

When I looked at all the pieces I did like - I discovered they all worked well together - they were eclectic, but they had a common vibe which is how I clarified my own personal style!

Can you identify some of your existing pieces that you really love? What do have in common? Colours, materials, texture, era?

3. DESIGN A NEW LOOK THAT INCORPORATES THESE PIECES

Once I understood my decorating style and the look I wanted for my home, shopping and choosing things for my home became easy and fun! I was able to make decisions much more easily - it was SO liberating!

I made sure the pieces I chose were going to work well with the things I had - because I had a much clearer sense of my personal style!

Going from from “camping” in my home to finally loving where I live, has completely changed my life!

READY TO LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE?

I love working with people to help them clarify their style, find additional pieces, and transform their space into one that feels fresh and modern, while still incorporating the pieces they own and love.

Before spending another weekend ‘existing’ at home (or shopping in homeware stores without a plan), let’s chat about how I can help you!
